The Norman Cob
Less common than the Percheron, the Norman Cob is nonetheless a breed worth discovering. It is the lightest of the nine French draft horse breeds, combining a calm temperament with liveliness. These traits make it an excellent driving horse as well as a great choice for mounted police units. Its sturdy build, paired with responsiveness to commands, makes it an ideal horse for patrols.
Typically bay in color, the Norman Cob can sometimes be chestnut or very dark, almost black. Its height ranges from 1.55m to 1.70m.
Thanks to the proactive efforts of Norman Cob breeders, this breed has a promising future, with birth numbers on the rise, now exceeding 200 foals annually. For more information: https://cobnormand.com/
